The Deloache residence, located in Preston Hollow, Dallas, Texas, was designed as a multi-generational outdoor retreat, blending seamlessly with the home’s Santa Barbara Modern architecture while weaving in subtle Tuscan-inspired details. The client’s vision was to minimize the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living, creating an environment that could accommodate both relaxation and recreation at every scale.
Anchored by a pool, spa, and dramatic rain curtain, the outdoor environment also features a custom water slide, cabana, sport court, pickleball court, and an inviting courtyard centered on a bespoke sugar kettle fountain. Thoughtful details such as an outdoor shower, perimeter masonry with 7’ metal fencing, and layered landscape lighting elevate both function and atmosphere.
Material selections—including silver travertine patios, limestone coping and treads, stucco finishes, and a barrel clay tile roof—tie the project back to the home’s architectural roots. The result is a master-planned landscape that balances sophistication with play, historic character with modern lines, and lifestyle with design integrity.
