To provide clarity and guidance, we’ve compiled a concise FAQ addressing common inquiries about our design process. From initial consultations to ownership of your master plan, we’re here to ensure transparency and support at every stage of your project!
IS MY INITIAL CONSULTATION COMPLIMENTARY? Yes. One of our Lead Designers will respond to your inquiry to discuss your project and schedule a complimentary consultation.
DOES MY DESIGN PROPOSAL FEE GO TOWARDS MY PROJECT? No, your Design Proposal is an independent agreement for professional design services and is not considered part of a Construction Budget or Proposal.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE? Design time varies drastically depending on project scope, program, site conditions, and site requirements. After our initial meeting/consultation on-site, your designer will have a good idea of the general timeline and be able to discuss it with you.
WHO ACTUALLY DESIGNS MY PROJECT? This is a team approach. Your Lead Designer will create the initial conceptual drawing for the team and directs the overall vision for the project. Then, our design team will provide input and create the 2D Schematic Drawings (SD), 3D Renderings (3D), and design development (DD) and eventually create your Master Plan (MP).
IS THERE A LIMIT ON REVISIONS? Our commitment as your Design + Build Firm is to arrive at a Master Plan that you love and value. Each Design Proposal accounts for (2) rounds of revisions. Additional Revision work will completed at an hourly rate, in addition to the fees listed in your Design Proposal.
WHEN WILL I SEE THE ESTIMATED PROJECT BUILD COST? You will receive a Preliminary Construction Budget after your initial Design Review. These figures are ranges of what anticipated budgets should be for the project. A more detailed project estimate will be reviewed once the Master Plan has been finalized. This estimate will be detailed and categorized.
WHAT IF MY HOME IS A NEW BUILD? We love new builds and working alongside builders, architects, and interior designers! Addressing your outdoor project early in the build process is ideal for a seamless experience and cohesive master plan.
HOW INVOLVED IS MY LEAD DESIGNER? Very Involved. Your overall experience is important to us so Designers are a constant presence and will also be acting as Project Managers during construction, along with our Construction team. Our expectation is that they are the first and last people you meet with on your journey toward an exceptional outdoor project!
DO YOU OFFER DESIGN ONLY SERVICES? As a Design + Build Firm, it is our intent to build every Master Plan that we design. There are unique circumstances that may call for Design Only Services and those are addressed on a case-by-case basis.
DO I OWN MY DESIGN? Yes. You own your Master Plan in accordance with your Design Proposal when the design fees have been paid in full.
